Loving to learn for life
“May wisdom enter you heart and knowledge be pleasant to your soul” Proverb 2:10
Everything within our curriculum is underpinned by our vision and aims.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum at Bonsall CE (VA) Primary School is carefully designed to inspire a love of learning for life ensuring our pupils are equipped with the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in both academically and in terms of personal development. We aim to provide our children with a firm knowledge base and make our school a happy and nurturing place where children feel confident to take risks, ask questions and tackle challenges and to develop into lifelong learners.
Our curriculum incorporates the expectations set out by the National Curriculum, although we see this as a minimum expectation. Our teachers work hard to develop high quality, learning which enthuse our pupils and take advantage of the unique nature of our school and local community. Pupils are encouraged to explore subjects deeply, experience a world beyond the classroom, learn a musical instrument, take part in the arts and take responsibility for the development of their school and how they learn.
As a Church school, we maintain a Christian ethos and aim, throughout our curriculum, to develop respect and understanding of all cultures and world faiths ensuring our pupils are prepared for their responsibilities as part of modern Britain and beyond.
As a small school, we know and recognise each pupil as an individual, learning is therefore adapted by teachers to enable an inclusive learning environment, where all, irrespective of needs, can flourish and reach their potential.
